PC Backup Interactive Overview

Data Backup Agency - PC Backup - how it works

To start the backup process the backup software is installed on each PC, laptop or Mac. This software, over a secure web interface, allows you to select data to backup. For IT administrators managing multiple machines, this can be managed centrally and the policies 'pushed' to each PC, laptop or Mac.

The backup software compresses and encrypts data using 128-bit AES encryption and uploads it to a UK-based data centre. Data from this centre is then mirrored to a separate data centre in the EU. Once the initial backup is completed, on-going incremental backups occur on a daily basis.

To recover a file, folder or entire directory use the backup software, the same secure web-interface used previously, to select the files for recovery. The software will: validate your credentials, connect to the vaults and begin the process of downloading the information back to your computer, de-encrypting it and then alerting you once it has been completed.

If your PC, Mac or laptop is stolen, you can access your data from any secure internet-connection using MyRoamTM. Alternatively we can supply you with a DVD containing an entire backup to your registered address. For security, data on the DVD is encrypted and can only be recovered with your account password.
